He started working at theRock Island Arsenal in 1929 and at the time of his death was chief of thesmall arms section of the arsenal engineering division. Survivorsinclude his widow, his mother, a daughter Mrs. Norma Dorothy Millet ofFt. Lauderdale Florida, a son Dan P. Furnas of Norman Oklahoma, threestep sons Mardell, Jack, and Jerry Parker, a brother Marvin Furnas ofLetts Iowa, three g/sons and 6 step g/children. He was preceded in deathby his father and an infant son.
