AF 1760 (abt.); in IGI, b. about 1779. In FHLib. Cat., Berkebile, see 929.273 (JSMB), B455w, V285v, and A1 no. 4062. From B455w: Md. Anna Catherine Shaffer. Anna died in 1820. Andrew married Barbara- after death of Anna. Andrew and Anna lived in Shade twp. of Somerset Co, Pa. Andrew also lived in York Co, Pa, and children George, Moses, Jesse (Jacob), Andrew and Samuel were baptized at Sadler's Church, York, Pa. On April 27, 1787 Benjamin Franklin witnessed the buying of land on the part of Andrew Berchebail in the county of York. Andrew's land was in the twp of Hopewell, York. And it appears that he had lived there since March of 1786. Andrew died in 1837. Andrew and Anna were buried on the Andy Shaffer farm at Rummel, Pa. They were later moved to the cemetery at the Berkey Church, in Cambria Co., Pa.
