FORSTER is another spelling Wills Index at the Cumbria Record Office in Carlisle we found that thomas Forester of Owlhurst made a 'Will' dated 20 Jan 1773 which mentioned his children and his loving wife Mary. The Quaker Burial Index gives the dates of death and burial. Three years after the death of the first wife, Thomas married Mary Portis in 1750.

She was born in 1737 at the family farmstead at Hurst (Owlhirst) When her father thomas died in 1773, Elizabeth's name did not appear in his 'Will' and we have to assume that she was either dead or married and fallen out with her father. The Quakers did tend to disown their children if they married outside the Quaker faith.
