                   Thomas died 77 years, 5 months, 1 week and 5 days old.  The Quakers were well known for their precise record keeping. From the age we were able to deduce that Thomas was born in1695. Hurst (Owlhurst) Parish of Stapleton. Occupation:   Yeoman Farmer
He was born at Hurst (Owlhurst) in the Parish of Stapleton.  Named as exeutor of his father Thomas's will dated 24 Jan 1731 and is left all the remainder of his estate.
FORSTER is another spelling
Wills Index at the Cumbria Record Office in Carlisle we found that thomas Forester of Owlhurst made a 'Will' dated 20 Jan 1773 which mentioned his children and his loving wife Mary.
The Quaker Burial Index gives the dates of death and burial.
Three years after the death of the first wife, Thomas married Mary Portis in 1750.

                   On IGI we found a John Forster with father Thomas Forster christened on 19 Jul 1767in Brampton, Cumberland, England.  His work has been done  B  05 May 1967  SLAKE  E  12 Dec 1967  SLAKE and P  21 Feb 1969 SLAKE  We aren't sure if this is our John.  Notes from the researcher at Hurst or Owlhurst in the Parish of Stapleton follow.  If Brampton was close it may be the same.

John Forester was born between 1760-1765 at Hurst (Owlhurst) in the Parish of Stapleton.
We found John Forester nasmes in his father's will dated 20 Jan 1773.;  His father Thomas indicated that John had not attained the age of 21 and he made arrangements for the interest on John's legacy to pay for his schooling, clothes etc and an apprenticeship if he agreed.
We have not been able to find a record of John's birth in the Quaker records, but since thomas's first wife died in 1747 and Thomas died in 1773 with John not yet 21 we have to asume that John's mother is Mary Portis who Thomnas married in 1750.
