Notes:
Sir Edward Drewe was knighted by Queen Elizabeth about 1589, and was a barrister in the Inner Court. His home at Killerton is now a 6,000 acre National Trust site. It is located in the same parish of Broad Clyst, where the early Churchills lived. Thomas Drewe, son of Edward, sold Killerton to the Aclands after his father's death. The Aclands still live at Killerton, but Sir Richard Acland has handed over the house and park to the National Trust.
