MARRIAGE:Bk D pg 45 Daviess Co MO Their first home after marriage was a log cabin on Elder Martin Scotts farm. They found a stove in the rubbish pile and bought pans on credit from the store keeper. Eventually he bought 50 acres from JW Scott, and 90 from EC Harrah in the old scotland neighborhood. Built a house living in another cabin and 120 acres from Dr Hill. Moved to Gallatin in 1901 and Geary Oklahoma where children lived in 1906.
Widowed young and then had 14 children with Phebe. Traveled from Missouri to Nebraska in a covered wagon, homesteaded a quarter section of land along the west border of Hayes Co. Lived on and improved the land 5 years and sold to John Terry, and bought a quarter section 1 1/2 miles south, just over the line in Chase County. Filed a tree claim of 160 acres in the hills west of there and purchased in 1896-sold in 1907. The Old Elmer Church in Hayes Co. was purchased by (Charles) Orley Troxel for the purpose of keeping up the cemetery behind, where so many relatives are buried.
He married Isabell Jane Scott 24 Jun 1842 at DeWitt, Illinois . Isabell Jane Scott was born at Tennessee 19 Dec 1822 daughter of Alexander Scott and Rebecca Hall or Blackburn .
