Arrived in Philadelphia in 1683. Buried in The Presbyterian Churchyard, Woodbridge, Middlesex Cty, NJ. Their graves are said to be still standing in excellent preservation amidst the graves of seven generations of their descendants. (1920) He was a prominent figure in the early days of the Province of New Jersey, "sturdy in his assertion of the rights of the people against the encroachment of the royal authority which at the same time recognized his worth by the long continued appointments as one of the six judges of the pleas of the County of Middlesex."
