Aunt Ada was the kind and patient aunt and great aunt who reared both WilmaDavis (partially) and Sallie Clinton Poet.  Sallie lived with "Grannie" (Great Aunt Ada) from age 2 until age 10. Sallie came to live with Aunt Ada when Ada was70 years old.  They lived in a little house on quince--1355 Quince in Denver, Colo.  Grannie was very loving.  She loved to garden, loved birds and made grape jelley and plum jelley.  She was a warm and loving caretaker of Sallie.
                  

                   Bertha married Alfred Theodore Davis.  They had Ruth and Wilma.  Wilma had Sallie,John Al and Lynn Michael.  Sallie is compiling this genealogy.Bertha and Ada and some of the other McQuerter sisters all loved to laugh.  They were loving women with long auburn hair.  Bertha died when Wilma was 3 years old, so she did not know her mother well.  Alfred was the sheriff of Colfax county, and a successful rancher, and Wilma and Ruth grew up at the ranch, adjacent to the jail. (Alfred  was the sheriff.) in Raton, New Mexico.
