Nathaniel Holmes BLANCHARD

                   Eliza Jane was married in the "bride's home" .  I wonder how this family's fortune changed so suddenly as to have a residence.   Melissa Coram, her mother died 9 months prior to this marriage and the family lived in the poor house at the time according to a newspaper report from the Unionville newpaper from Putnam Missouri dated 31 July 1884 in the Obituary section under Lemen Missouri,  It reads: "Mrs. Blanchard, a poor person at the ocunty house, died last Monday.  She leaves a family of six children, two of them twin infants.  They also lived there 4 years prior to the marriage according to the 1880 census, Willian Township in Putnam county pg 15. surveyors dist #5, 17 June 1880.

Twin to Stella Mae (d. 11 Sep 1884) who died four months after birth and a month and a half after her mother.

Twin to Bertha Mae

A newspaper obituary for Stella from the same paper dated Lemen, 18 Sep 1884, listed above reads: "The infant daughter of the late Mrs. Blanchard, died at the county poor farm last Thursday."  I calculated that She would have died Sept 11 on the previous Thursday.
