Tombstone in Zion Lutheran Cem.  says "Valentine S. Carson, appears to be 4 Oct 1900 82 years 8 months 22 days.  This creates some discrepancies.  Ifn he was 70 in 1882 then he would be 88 in 1900.  Other sources place his birth in 1813
