They had six children tow of whom were born in that town and four in windham.  He came to this town in 1750 and located on Home lot no. 5 on which he buklt a house.  His remains lie interred in the smith Cem. at South Windham, but no stone marks the spot.

He moved to New Marblehead, now Windham, ME about 1740 to which place he was dismissed from the Lexington church 30 may 1762.  This place suffered severely from the Indians from 1747 to 1763 and he was attacked and scalped by them, but not mortally wounded on 14 May 1756.  At this date he was a widower, with a family of six children.  the settlement of Northern new England 1610-1673 by Charles E. clark Pg 246-247Ephraim Winship, cordwainer, made and repaired shoes for Chute, as he must have done for most of his neighbors in return for beef, vegtables, liquor.  pg 213 Ephraim Winship who in 1730 had brought his family to New Marble head nowWinham ME from Lexington, MA owned a house on 9 acres of cleared land on lot 5.  His son Gershom who was about 14 yrs old when the family moved cleared 9 acres and built a barn on lot 6.
