NOTES: 1. Family lived at (Nedre Voldgade No. 21 in Oslo,Norway). 2. Immigrated to America in 1862 with Hans and Father. They left from Liverpool England on the new boat the British Princess. They landed in Philadelphia. 3. Upon arriving in America, Anton and Arnt stayed with Uncle Ole at Solberg's Point and worked. 4. Bought a farm in Deer Park, Wisconsin in 1863 and sent for Mother and the rest of the family. 5. Father worked for a lumber company near Hayward while mother and we boys stayed on the Farm. 6. They left Deer Park and moved to Hayward, Wisconsin. They built 2 houses which are still standing (in 1940). 7. In 1887 we moved from Hayward to West Duluth out near Farimont Park where we built a house.
BIRTH: Olea was probably born at Fuske, Holmestrand, Vestfold, Norway.
NOTES: 1. Emigrated to America in 1881. 2. In 1862 he was working at the hotel Lafayette, Lake Minnetonka a summer resort belonging to the Great Northern Railway company. 3. Arlene Rapp has 1865 as birth date 4. Submitted to Temple ready with incorrect death year - should be 1864 according to Death Records in Carlton County.
Immigrated to America aboard the British Princess leaving from Liverpool England. The ship docked in Philadelphia. He was joined by his brother Arnt and Father Anton. They lived in a house nearby Oslo called Ekeberg (Nedre Voldgade No. 21) Upon arriving in MN Hans stayed with uncle and aunt near New Richland. He later went to be with his Father and got a job on the stamboat "The City of St. Louis" Moved with Family to Hayward Wisconsi, then to West Duluth around the 1890's. Married sometine around 1890. In 1890 I made my first trip to North Dakota to the harvest Fields In 1891 went with Partner John Thorsby to the north end of St. Louis county to take up a preemption claim. - Hans spent 7 years going back and forth to the claim "squatting". The claim was 60 miles past Tower, MN Built a log house around Shevlin
