                   NEW HAMPTON, MISSOURI HISTORY - JACOB AND 8 CHILDREN MOVED TO NEW HAMPTON,
    MISSOURI BETWEEN 1854 AND 1865, BOUGHT ADJOINING LAND, REARED FAMILIES, AND
    WITH THE EXCEPTION OF JOHN, DIED NEAR WHERE THEY SETTLED.  ALL OF JACOB'S
    CHILDREN ARE ASSUMED TO HAVE BEEN BORN AT NEW HAMPTON.  MARY ETTA IS KNOWN
    TO HAVE BEEN BY HER GRANDSON - LOREN E. EARNEST.

                               In the Harry family History is included the typed out obituary for Jacob:
                               Jacob Funk, son of Martin & Elizabeth Funk was born in Ohio May 23, 1840;
                               departed this life Nov 15, 1924 at 1:45 PM age 84, 5 months and 23 days.  When
                               but a child he moved form Ohio with his parents to Henry County, IN where he
                               grew to manhood.  He was converted & united with the M. E. Church at New
                               Hampton some years ago.  Nine children & 23 grandchildren, eight great
                               grandchildren & one sister, Mrs. Mary Swartz survives him. The children were all at
                               the bedside when he passed away except Mrs. B. F. Fulkerson.  He was a home
                               loving man & enjoyed so much for his friends & relatives to visit him.
                               Funeral services were held at the M. E. Church, New Hampton, Nov. 16, 1924,
                               conducted by Re.v. H. G. Blomfield.  Burial at Foster Cemetary.
