John Wenger Meyers, a miller, after the death of his first wife, married my

great aunt "Cass" Sarah Catherine McDowell on 18 June 1896.

	 She was born June 13, 1861 on the farm in West Gwillimbury near
the present town of Bradford,  Sarah lived with her parents until her
marriage at Listowel  June 18, 1896,  when she married a widowed miller,
John Wenger Meyers, son of John and Mary (nee Wenger) Meyers of Waterloo
County.  The 1901 Census however, lists Sarah Catherine with Thomas's
family in Listowel.  However, Thomas's will, dated 1916 notes  Sarah
Catherine Meyers of Peterborough. Vernon's Directory of Peterborough, 1919

lists J.W.Meyers (Sarah) residing at 271 Brock Street.	Meyers was then
President and Managing Director of the Peterborough Cereal Co.	In 1935 the

Meyers have moved to 570 Water Street, Peterborough, presumably upon John
Meyers retirement.

Sorry, I do not have a date of death for either John or Cass, but both were

apparently still in the pink as of 1935.

We do not know if John & Cass had any children together.  It is certainly
possible, as she was only 35 when they got married.

They were in Dawson City, Yukon from at least the fall of 1900 to the Sept

1903, or most likely until at least the spring of 1904.  "Ollie" was with
them, and is mentioned frequently in surviving letters.  "Alberta" is also

mentioned, but it not clear if she was with them in Dawson.

Here is a picture of her with three girls, taken in Listowel,
Ontario.  Therefore, it had to be taken between 1896 and Dec 1900 or in
1904 or later.

Right now, I am guessing that the girls are

ANGELINE ORILLA MEYERS	b.28 JUN 1884

IDA ALBERTA MEYERS  21 SEP 1886

and

LILLIAN OLIVE SNYDER MEYERS. b?

Ida Alberta was known as "Alberta" and Lillian Olive as "Ollie".

I see that you do not have a date of birth for "Ollie".  From letters
written in 1903 we know that "Ollie" was in school, reciting, singing,
learning piano, skating backwards, and her teeth were not coming in
straight, which makes her somewhere between 6 and 12 years old.

Possibly her mother died in childbirth having her, which would make her
date of birth approx. 12 MAY 1895.  She looks about 3 in the picture, which

dates the picture at 1898. In 1898, Angeline Orillia and Alberta would be
12 & 14, which, in my opinion, is consistent with their apparent ages in
the picture.
