Ford;Heber, Utah HISTORY: Hugh Moon left Penworthen, England for Liverpool 30 May 1840,sailed on the ship named Britannia to America, with the first organizedemigrant company of Latter Day Saints. He landed in sight of New York 17 July and stayed in New York eight days. He was 25 years old. He lived inMontrose and came to Nauvoo April 31 1845, traveled with Amesy Lyman's Co. under command of captian Fleak. He arrived in Salt Lake October 19, 1848. On Dec. 11, 1848 he moved to the First Ward of Great Salt Lake City lot #1block 17 and built a cabin 10 X14 dirt roof. Called to Southern UtahNovember 7, 1861, and lived in St. George five years. Moved from St. George 11June 1866 back to Salt Lake and to Farmington. He died 23 December 1870 inIdaho. Buried just over the line of Utah and Idaho "in John Well's field."See Ensign July 1991 page 6 and 7.
