Baptized by great grandson Ryan Peterson with Brad Peterson acting as proxy. The water in the temple's font was very cold and both boys were shivering terribly as they entered the water. Their mother, Tami, remarked to them that their great grandfather, GG, was probably laughing joyously as he watched what was taking place. He always loved a good joke. It was the same for his burial here on earth. When his family arrived at the cemetary to bury his ashes on top of his wife's grave, as he had requested, they soon discovered that the wrong grave had been opened....that of his brother, John. It was a Saturday with no one to correct the situation but the family themselves. With a borrowed pick and shovel, the grave was opened, the Arizona soiled placed on top, a song, "Amazing Grace", a tribute read by Diane, his daughter, which was written by her husband, Bob, and a rededicatory prayer given by his son-in-law, Ralph Stratford. We knew he was there just as tickled as he could be watching this whole scenario. A cold baptismal font was just another "good story" for George. He loved just such a situation.
