Robert KNOWLTON
Robert lost four children in a two year period. Between 1735-40 there were epidemics of diphtheria and scarlet fever spread through various parts of New England. Both diseases were referred to as "throat distemper" and weren't distinguished. Hundreds of people died, most of them children. Maybe this is what took there children Robert bought large tract of land southwest part of Ashfordin 1725. Served as representative in the Colonial Assembly of Connecticut 1739-1755.
He married Hannah Robison 21 Nov 1717 at Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts . Hannah Robison was born at Connecticut 6 Sep 1696 daughter of Thomas Robison and Hannah Dorman .
