                   NOTE: 1. On Willie Ann's death certificate, Eugene Henshaw listed her parents as James and Jane Garnett. However, Willie Ann is listed in the census as part of the household of William R. and Susan Saunders.   Family folklore is that Willie Ann was born in the Garnett family, but raised by the Saunders family.
2.  Willie Ann was "black" according to the 1870 Census of Newtown, King & Queen County, Virginia.  All of her children were Mulatto and born to Eugene Henshaw according to census and branch records.
