                   RESEARCH: Robert Monney was not located on preliminary searches of the 1790 or 1800 censuses in New York, although alternate spellings were not fully checked.  Family surname message boards and internet searches were not able to locate any additional information.  1880 census of the son Robert Mooney shows that his parents were both born in New York.  Original research is recommended.

                   In 1880 Robert's census enumeration shows that his father and mother were both born in New York.  In 1880 he is living in Lafayette, Walworth, WI, next to nephew Alvah Hancock, son of Mary Mooney and Elijah Hancock.  His birthdate of 1809 is supported by both the 1850 and 1890 censuses.
