William R. Williams. Mr. Williams, the son of Thomas Williams, came from
England in 1843 and lived in Mitchell until 1849, when he went to Lambeth.
Returning in 1858 he lived in Stratford for seven years. His present address
is Mitchell. He is 81 years old.

OBIT 28 May 1918: WILLIAMS.-There died on Tuesday at the home of her son-in-law,R.S.Beattie, Leah Fennell, widow of the late W.R.Williams
of Mitchell. The late Mrs. Williams was born in Buckinghamshire, England, in the year 1831 and therefore at the time of her death had attained the ripe old age of 87 years. The deceased came to this country in the year 1844 with her parents and six brothers, of whom two survive her, being John of British Columbia and Isaac of Muskoka. Mrs. Williams was the mother of two sons and seven daughters, namely: Arthur of Battle Creek, Mich., Mrs. Wm. Cousins of Elmwood; Mrs. George Yeo, deceased; Mrs. Pearce of this city; William, deceased; Mrs. D. H. Farrow, of Toronto; Mrs. R. K. Farrow, deceased, and Mrs. R. S. Beattie, with whom she made her home, also a daughter who died in infancy. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and a large number of great-grandchildren. When the late Mrs. Williams came to Stratford over 70 years ago there were only a few small houses. So it may be said she was one of the old pioneers. She was a kind, loving mother and will be greatly missed by her friends as well as her relatives.

28 May 1918 Obit. for Leah (Fennell) WILLIAMS has her daughter, Amelia Ann, as Mrs. William Cousins of Elmwood. August 14,2001 we drove to Elmwood. The records are now in Walkerton. Elmwood is on the border between Brant Twp. and Bentinck Twp. We also drove to the library/archives in Hanover, Bentinck
Twp. We found no trace of "Cousins". The archivists of both libraries were not present and I left my information for them.

Alice Maude(FARROW)lived in Mitchell in October 1883 when married and lived with her husband and three children in Stratford, Falstaff Ward in 1891 G2 with husband Douglas and Alvin (5), Effie(3), and Lorance (9/12). She was living in NY, NY on 28 May 1918 when her mother died in Stratford, and less than two months later her husband died in New York, N.Y. 3 July at 48.6 years.

Sep 1907 (38yrs) I have a wedding invitation from Mr & Mrs. R.S. BEATTIE announcing the marriage of their daughter, Alberta HILL to Mr.Alvin G. FARROW
at their home in Kastnerville. Kastnerville is just east of Sebringville on Hwy 8 and no longer exists. It was on the south side of Hwy. 8 and was thus in Downie Twp. The Kastnerville Cemetery is now the Sebringville Cemetery. None of my family there. I have a note from a FARROW ancestor saying that Lena looked after the children of Alice Maude (WILLIAMS) FARROW after Alice died. Alice's first child was Alvin G. FARROW born 29 June 1885. Was it he who married Alberta HILL? He would be 22yrs at the time.
May 1918 (49yrs) According to her mother's obituary, Leah FENNELL was living with Lena (Mrs. R.S. BEATTIE) when she died, 18 May 1918
