Notes:
Immigration and history: Sailed from Bristol, England on the "Lyon" 1 Dec 1630, landing in Boston in Feb 1631 after "a very tempestuous voyage." Roger Williams was one of their fellow passengers. John was admitted a freeman in Boston on 18 May 1631. Stayed in Boston for two years, then joined John Winthrop, Jr, and others to become one of the first settlers of Ipswich (first known as Agawam). John was a successful farmer, a deputy to the General Court and town officer, and owned the large island at the mouth of the Ipswich River, called Perkins Island. His will is dated 28 Mar 1654, proved Sep 1654. (Ancestry World Tree)
