Original baptism date uncertain. Rebaptized in 1965 NOTE: Richard was the son, born out of wedlock, of Martha Worthen and Richard Nichols. His father Richard is described as "a soldier in foreign wars." Nothing more has been found about him. Martha married William Chrimes three years later, and Richard was sealed to them. He has also been sealed to Martha and Richard Nichols, 15 Aug 1987, Salt Lake Temple.

First baptized Oct 1839 but rebaptized in 1852 From Nauvoo Restoration Society, "Samuel Worthen, seventy, received his endowments 6 Feb. 1846 in Nauvoo with his wife, Sarah Hallam Worthen. The endowment was reconfirmed at Salt Lake Temple on 15 Mar 1965

Richard and his brother Joseph were swept off a ferry and drowned in the Missouri River, while crossing to attend Sunday School.
He married Mary Cowap 18 Feb 1816 at Great Budworth, Cheshire, England . Mary Cowap was born at Northwich, Cheshire, England 24 Jul 1796 daughter of William Cowap and Phoebe Burrows .
