Jonathan MIDGLEY
Jonathan was originally sealed to a Rachel Garfield who was from another
parish. But when marriage of Jonathan to Susan North was found in Elland and
since some of their children were christened in Elland, it seems more logical
that he was married to Susan North.
Christening entries in Elland do not give mother's name. Was Jonathan born on 21 or 24 Sep?

Jonathan Midgley's wife was originally thought to be Rachel Garfield, whose
birth or christening were not found but believed to have occurred at
Almondbury. The marriage of Jonathan to Rachel was not found either. However,
other family descendants have found what appears to be the true line, which is:
The marriage of Jonathan to Susan North in Elland, Almondbury in 1753, and also
her christening record in Almondbury. Also, the children of Jonathan Midgley
(wife's name not given in the parish record) include a child named Susan, which
would substantiate the Susan North line.
MARR Record says Jonathan was of Saddleworth and Martha was of the parish of
Almondbury, where the marriage took place. (Film #990854)
No record of David's christening in 1762 in Almondbury parish record (Film
#20042). However, his name was submitted for temple ordinances in 1890, and
must have been based on knowledge of some pioneer family relative.
He married Susan North 22 Oct 1753 at Elland, Yorkshire, England . Susan North was christened at Almondbury, Yorkshire, England 12 Mar 1729 daughter of John North and Love Armitage .
