Edward RIGGS

                   Married Eunice Morris in 1728 and settled at Basking Ridge, N.J.  In 1730 he
was trustee of Presbyterian Church and later a ruling elder.  His wife was born
in 1703 and died 28 Dec 1789.  Ch: Mary, b. abt 1730, m. Rev Wyllys Pierson;

Mr. Prudden; Jonathan, b. abt 1740, m. Mary Hampton, of Basking Ridge; Thomas,
b. 13 Dec 1742, m. Rhoda Tuttle.
                  

                   Married Jane Plumb, dau of John & Hannah Crane Plumb of Newark, and in later
years had summer residence in Morris Co, N.J.  He was wealthy, had no children,
but was kind and helped less fortunate relatives.  Will was dated 13 Dec 1776.

                   Married Elizabeth Cox, dau of Philip Cox, who was born 17 Feb 1716.  In 1762 he
burchased much land in vicinity of what is now Hightown, later selling it out
in parcels to different family members in 1774.  In 1738 he had a controversy
with the proprietors about the title to a tract of land at Basking Ridge, that
he had purchased from Elizabethtown people.  His residence appears to have been
at Basking Ridge and later about 1774, in Windsor Township, Middlesex Co., NJ.
