bev@barney.orgNewspaper accts. of the death of Percy Bissett. He was in a canoe about 300 yds. from shore. He was familiar with canoes but not an expert. It was about 3:00 pm on a Sunday in Nov. 1923. He was a strong swimmer,but the water was very cold. He managed to swim some of the way to the beach but it is assumed he suffered from a cramp and sank and drowned. They grappled for his body for the rest of that day and evening, but it wasn't till 9:30 the next morning that they found it, 40 yds from the shore.
He married Clotillie May Carvell 18 Jan 1888 at St John, StJohn, New Brunswick . Clotillie May Carvell was born at New Brunswick, Canada Aug 1861 daughter of Edward Carvell and Margaret Eliza Parker .
