29 April 1861 Bradley enlisted in Co. F,4th regiment Georgia Inf.(sometimes called Toombs Vol.) at Calhoun,Gordon Co. ga. under captain Blair R. Mayers.  He was wounded at the battle of Sharpsburg. better known as the battle of Antietum on Sep. 27,1862.  According to pension records he was discharged sometime during 1863.  He apparently moved his family from Gordon Co.,Ga. to Izard Co. Ark. between 1869/1872.
