Robert Simpson KIRKPATRICK
Info. from a booklet titled The Family of Robert Simpson Kirkpatrick 1828-1905. It has pictures of he and Fannie and their children. Written by a grandchild. R.S. and his twin brother, John Davis were born in Clarksville,Tenn. Their mother,Margaret Gott Kirkpatrick died Nov. 30,1928. The twins were raised by foster families, and their father moved back to Mo. When Robert was about 21 he went to Mo. to see his father. He went to California in 1853 with a wagon train.( Compilers note; It is my understanding that grandpa came with the wagontrain but rode a mule. The only verification was in a poem written by my dad, William Finis Kirkpatrick)

Mrs. K. died Tues. at her home at Sharon, was born in Albany N.Y. 87 yrs.ago. She moved with her family to Ca. when she was 11,giong from N.Y. to the Pac. coast through Panama,crossing the Isthmus. she married Robert in 1870 and located in Tekoa in 1880. In the fall of 1884 they homesteaded at their present home. She is survived by six daus.;Mrs.Hattie Albert,Spokane;Mrs.Josephine Olmstead,Sharon;Mrs.Dora Hill,Lewiston;Mrs. Edna McIntire,Woodland,Idaho;Mrs.Edith Magart,Moran Prairie,and Mrs.Pearl Kienholz of Hayden Lake;four sons; Robert L., Lewiston;John E.,Sharon; William F., Orchard Ave. and Elbert E.Kirkpatrick,San Bernardino,Ca. also surviving are 30 gr.children and 14 gr.gr.children.
