                   DEATH CERT. LETTER FROM A GRANDSON OF "KI" LEROY O. CROGHAN,1208 9TH AVE,COUNCIL BLUFFS IOWA,  HE MARRIED ELIZABETH PRUETT,A SISTER OF REBECCA WIFE OF B.F.CROGHAN.  HE HAd 3 CHILDREN ACC. TO LEROY, MARY(PRUETT),WILLIAM 0. AND DAVID WHOSE FAMILY LIVED AT VALENTINE NEB.
ALSO BABE AND SELONA.  HIS SON WILLIAM OSCAR MARRIED MAUDIE DINSMORE DAUGHTER OF DIANTHA CROGHAN DINSMORE WHO WAS THE DAU. OF REBECCA AND BENJAMIN CROGHAN
Came to Cedar Co. Iowa at age 4 or 5 in a covered wagon. farmed in Nebraska for 20 yrs. Owned 9,000\11,000 acres. Had a sawmill So. of Missouri Valley Iowa. Lost drivers Lisc. at 100 yrs of age. An article in Lewis paper says"Mr. Croghan says he has been everywhere..  Father of seven children, two sons are still living; David of Bassett,Neb. and William,79 who lives with the fatherl It is William who takes care of the house and cooks the meals,keeps the lawn neatly mowed and raises the beautiful flowers which are the delight of the father. Mr Croghan is a small,wiry,courteous man and is a member of the Lewis Methodist church."  This was written when he was 100 yrs old. At age 99 they showed him in a pict. with his spring flock of little chicks.
He died at age 102 of cerebral thrombosis  and senility (death cert) Nickname was Ki
