He attended Brigham Academy in Bakersfield, VT. In 1899, he bought the furni- ture business of Harvey Domina. In 1915, he built a new store in E. Berkshire on land owned by the Rublee family since 1842. He owned and operated the store until 1953, when he sold the building to the Catholic Diocese. He was active in his community, holding many town offices. In his youth, he played in the West Berkshire Concert Band. He served 1 term in the Vermont Legislature in 1927. [Berger, 1974]

She graduated from Bishop Hopkins Hall, Rockpoint, Burlington, VT. in 1895 and from Smith College in 1898. She was a member of the Smith College Club. Prior to her marriage, she taught in Episcopal boarding schools in MD, CO, and CA. She remained active in the local Episcopal Church. [Berger, 1974]
