He was living with his son, Clayton R. Rublee at the time of the 1900 Census. He died of paretic dementia. This was confirmed by the memory of Marshall Rhea whom was named after him. Mr. Rhea`s father worked for Clayton Rublee as a farmhand. He remembers that "Old man Rublee" promised him a Morgan horse, but that he went "off his head" before Mr. Rhea got it. He was born and raised in Berkshire, VT. where he married Alice Johnson. They lived on farm near West Berkshire for about 10 years. In the winter of 1879, they sold the farm and moved to Minton, PQ. near North Hatley. This all hap- ened after a visit to Mrs. Rublee's parents whom had moved there several years earlier. A neighboring farm was for sale, and they decided to buy it. [Berger 1974. and Conner, R.G.]
