Francis Clayton ATKIN

                   Uncle Frank had wife Edith Wood cook, M. 3 Dec. 1888 Scioto Co. Ohio.  I am not sure what happened to her but the wife he had in Ca. was named Belle.  Belle had a dau. Lena from a former marriage.  Lena had one son named Walter.  They lived in the Philipines. Belle may have been buried in Red Bluff.
Portsmouth dir. 1897 showed 2 daus. Minnie and Nellie living with mom and dad----1899 dir. showed no children.
Frank is in 1894/5 dir. as a salesman, With fam. he is a policeman.

Edith Mar. 1868 age 32 b.Ohio---Minnie dau. Apr.1889 age 11---Avenal dau. Oct.1892 age 7--Sunday Adkins age 70 b.1829 in Ohio (May be another family)

1920 census(16 Jan. 1920) Richfield Precinct,Corning Twsp.Corning Twsp. Corning rd. shows Francis C. Atkin age 52 b. Ohio Parents b. Ohio ,widowed?

Conrad remembers his Uncle Frank as a large man, friendly and good to him.  He remembers loading a truck with watermelons when he was age 10, with Uncle Frank.  He remembers it being a model T  ford truck that had a crank.
This could have been the old schoolbus as Boyd said he later turned it into a flat bed truck.  Frank grew watermelons   to sell.

Dewayne and Pat remember him as grouchy to his wife. , chewed tobacco and had deadly accuracy in spitting.
Dewayne remembers having to climb an old oak tree trying to catch an owl that kept Uncle Frank awake and the tree being full of ants.
Boyd remembers him driving a ModelT bus type car for a school bus that had a "cut out" on  the exhaust he could use to let the kids hear him when he was getting close to their house.
In the 1930 census He is living with wife Isabelle.  He is living a few houses from Ruth and Wayne.  He dies in 1940 and haven't found what happened to Belle.
