It appears that James owned land in ,N.C. and S.C..  James owned a mill and may have been a tanner as well as a farmer.  After his death his widow resided in York co. S.C. until her death in 1846/  James is buried at Long Creek Presby. Church near Kings Mt.  His wife is buried at Bethany Presby. Church in York Co. S.C..  Many or their descendants resided in S.. and Ga.
