Notes:
Name: William Edward or William Bernard Bukowski. UGC found his christening record and it said, Valentinum Bernard /Bukowski/
On his World War I Draft Registration Card, he lists his name as William Bernard Bukowski. The name is hard to read, and appears to have a few letters (illegible) after the "d" in Bernard.

William was known as Billy. He was tall, athletic and strikingly good-looking.

He was an electrician and died young from peritonitis after falling from an attic where he was working.

He had a two-year-old daughter, Beatrice, named after a sister who had died young. His daughter, Dorothy, was only a few months old and his daughter, Billie, was several months away from being born. His wife, Irene, hoped for a boy to be named after his deceased father. However, when the baby turned out to be another girl, she was named after both of her parents: Billie Irene Bukowski.
