NOTE: As listed in on Ancestry.com: "Died - At French Fort, on the 27th of September, of a lingering illness which he bore with perfect resignation to the Divine Will, Mr. Charles Stewart in the 78th year of his age, leaving a disconsolate wife and an affectionate family to mourn their loss. Deceased was an old and respected inhabitant of this place and much regretted by all who knew him. 'Beloved are the dead who died in the Lord.'"
Married George Gay on 10 March 1853 somewhere on PEI. Canada. They lived in Birch Hill, PEI where George farmed.
Two known daughters: Eliza and Levenia. The girls were christened at the United Church in Pownal on 16 Sept 1864.
