CAP Newspaper of 20 Aug 1887, Chicago Mail - It is the sober opinion of the most conservative men in Evanston that old Georg Watson whose charming daughter Slason THOMPSON has just married is worth not less than $1,000,000. There are just 3 children. Mr. Watson is a careful old Canadian whose fortune has never been known to retrograde. He was for years the managing director of the Bank of Montreal in this city. The groom, Slason THOMPSON, is a well bred and good looking Canadian, who began his work on the coast and came here as a representative of the San Francisco wing of the Associated Press.

The book, Way Back When, by Slason Thompson, gives his birthdate, the names of his parents, the name of his wife and the date they were married, the names of his three daughters and the spouses of two of them.

U.S. Census 1900 lists Slason Thompson living in Evanston Township, Cook, Illinois with his mother-in-law, Julia M. Watson, a widow, sister-in-law, Margaret Watson, wife, Julia W., and daughters, Julia, Barbara, and Margaret. They were living at 1408 Ridge Avenue. There were also three servants living in the home.

Listed in the 1930 Illinois Census. At that time was living in Lake Forest, Lake, Illinois. His wife and daughter, Margaret, were living with him.
