BIOGRAPHY: House of Assemby - Hon. Andrew George Blair, the Leader of the Gov't and Attorney General, is a representative from York Co. His family was of Scottish extraction. He was born in Fredericton, 7th March 1844 and was married 31st Oct 1866 to Annie E. Thompson eldest d/o George Thompson, Esq. of the Educational Dept. Fredericton. He was first called to the bar, April 1865. He was first returned to the House of Assembly at the general election of 1878. He resigned his seat on petition being filed against his return and, on the issue of a new writ, was re-elected Nov 14, 1878, At the following general election he was re-elected. On the resignation of the Government he was called upon to form an administration, which he succeeded in doing 3rd March 1883, At the last general election he was returned. He is a Liberal.
