Vol 1, pt 2. In record of land grants was found: "The petition of Isaac Slason Loyalist from the Colony of Connecticut ... that your petitioner being informed of a vacant lot... and dated 9 April 1785.

Vol 1, pt 2. Listed in The Loyalists of New Brunswick, 1955, by Esther C. Wright, which stated he was a tanner from Connecticut. The book, "Way Back When," by Slason Thompson states: "Loyalist from Stanford, Connecticut. He was a member for York County in the New Brunswick Assembly. The records of the Christ Church Anglican dated 20 April 1816, list J. Slason as a vestryman. In the History of Central New Brunswick by Lillian M. Beckwith, Jedediah Slason is listed as a member. Each member paid an annual fee of 1 pd/year. 27 Dec 1836, Declaration of Joseph Gaynor as administrator of goods, chattels and credits of Jedediah Slason 30,000 pounds. Newspaper obituary dated 20 Dec 1836, states Jedediah Slason, age 68, merchant, member of Legislative Assembly and one of His Majesties Magistrates for York County. The book, The Slason, Slauson, Slawson, Slossen Family, by George C. Slawson, Waverly Sun, Inc., Waverly, NY, 1946 states concerning Jedediah, "left the country in 1783 at close of the Revolutionary War because of strong Tory sentiments and went to St. Johns, New Brunswick. Was unmarried at time of leaving the country. Sisters may have gone with him." He owned property on Queen Street and at the time of his death the tenants were a regimental mess and a dealer in liquors. "The property in Queen Street of the late Jedediah Slason was sold by John William, one of the heirs and his youngest child, in 1856 to Owen and Thomas Sharkey. It is a brick building and a landmark - "The Sharkey Building," next to the Barker House.
