                   John Clinton Bridwell was crushed to death by a large rock as he worked in the rock quarry located on Rocky Hill, in East Porterville, California. He was 38 years old and left a 32 year old widow and 8 children ranging in ages from 9 years to 9 months.  He also left a 17 year old son by a previous marriage, and an 11 year old step son.
