NAME: Carolina aka "Lena" Had 9 children, 6 surviving, per 1900 census Father born in New Jersey, mother born in Sweden, per 1900 census. This may be in error. Unnaturalized in 1900 Widowed by 1900 1870 Census lists birthplace as Canada - As opposed to the 1900 census where she states her father was born in New Jersey, she lists both parents as "of foreign birth" on the 1870 Census Records from other descendants show birthplace is Vastervik, Sweden

Living with sister and her husband, William Woolston, in Penn, St Joseph, IN 1910 Census - employed as a watch maker Obituary, from a negative photocopy, unknown source, in posession of Jill Hammond Adams Henry L. Butler, 74, of 1207 Maple Avenue, died at 4:35 this morning at the Fairview Hospital after being in failing health for a year. He was born to John and Lena Butler on June 22, 1882, in Chicago, and lived in LaPorte for three years, coming here from Bridgman, Mich. On June 7, 1917, in St. Joseph, Mich., he was married to Hazel Anderson, who survives. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Other Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Emma Woolston, Canton, O., and Mrs. Ellen Todd, Fr. Madison, Ia. One brother, Edward Dorsey, of Chicago, died earlier this week. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Otto E. Glese Funeral Home with burial in Pine Lake cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Monday morning until the time of the services.
