The history of the Kilbury's was recided by Mrs. Laura Kilbury Francis in 1895 in the 85th year of her birth.  Her grandfather was John Kilbury who died in 1820 at 90 years old.  He was in the naval service of the English against the Americans in the Revolutionary war.  At the end of the war he requested to be landed on American soil and settled in 1772 near Brattleboro, Windham, Vermont.  He left a wife and three sons in England and never saw them afterward, his wife having died while he was at sea.  He was at sea for seven years.
