One of the leaders of the first group of truecolonists. A mason in France, he arrived in 1634, and the rest of hisfamily followed him a year or so later. He received large land grants,and became Sieur du Buisson and was responsible for bringing others toemigrate and settle on his land. From Pierre Girouard: "`.....that would not necessarily be an error to declare that JeanGUYON was originally from Mortagne-au-Perche, even though he was born inTourouvre. He married Mathurine Robin 2 June 1615 at St. Jeanof Mortagne (Orne), France. He was buried at Quebec 2 May 1663 and hisspouse, in the same place on 17 April 1662.
