*Last name found to also be; Pinel, Pinette, De La Chancie, De LaChenaie, De La Chaisnaye.  One of the leaders of the first group of truecolonists.  A mason in France, he arrived in 1634, and the rest of hisfamily followed him a year or so later.  He received large land grants,and became Sieur du Buisson and was responsible for bringing others toemigrate and settle on his land.

       "`.....that would not necessarily be an error to declare that JeanGUYON was originally from Mortagne-au-Perche, even though he was born inTourouvre.  This settler of the first hour was established for quite sometime at Mortagne where most of his children were born.'  From: MEMOIRESVol 44 #3 p.211"

Jean Guyon dit Dion, baptised at Tourouvre (Orne) 18 Sep 1592, was theson of Jacques GUYON.  He married Mathurine Robin 2 June 1615 at St. Jeanof Mortagne (Orne), France.  He was buried at Quebec 2 May 1663 and hisspouse, in the same place on 17 April 1662. For other information consult`Origine des Familles canadiennes-francais'; Pere Archange Godbout."

Arrived in Quebec on a ship commanded by Captain DeVille, Aug 8, 1634

Well educated.  Arrived in Quebec on ship commanded by Capt. DeVille on 8Aug 1634.  They left Dieppe in May.  He was an "homme instruit" as wellas a Master Stone cutter and Master Mason.  In 1646 he led the parade ofQuebec craftsman in the Fete-Dieu procession carrying a torch bearing anescutcheon with the insignia of his trade, hammer, compasses & rule. Hisstubborness
and litigatiousness were proverbial.  Noted for his handwriting, he drewup Notorial documents.

Jean Guyon and his family arrived in Quebec on the ship  commandedCapatin de Ville on August 8 1634.

Came to Canada in the spring of 1634.  Hired by Robert Giffard, Mason,concession of "l'arrière-fife-Dubuisson dans Beauport Mar 14 1634"Inherited by son Jean.Educated man, came from Perche

He was a mason by trade, a well educated man and Sieur du Buisson
