                   Jacob Gabbert was a member of the Virginia Militia under Captain Long and was present at Yorktown for the surrender of Cornwallis.Jacob's will was written in 1810 and entered into probate in 1811. Original file copies are still available in Augusta County, Virginia courthouse 

1) 'Soldiers of the American Revolution Who Died in Augusta County Virginia' and 2) Chalkley's 'Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement in Virginia, Vol. 1 ' pp. 525, 526 in which Jacob Gabert signed a petition requesting reinstatement of Captain Long' s rank after the battle of Yorktown.
