Daniel joined the fight for the Revolution in 19 Feb 1777 in Cpt Joshua Bowmans company. He was still there in 8 sep 1778. This was a light infantry unit. In 1767 , there is a Daniel mcKay living in Cumberland Co. with Archibald, Alexander , anguish. Archibald was there alone as a taxpayer in 1755. Ivor Mckay was no longer a taxpayer. Daniel is probably son of Iver Mckay. There is no other Daniel mentioned that lives nearby. Robeson so was created 1787 from Bladen where Iver was living. Iver mentions Daniel in his will. Daniel dies 1802 in Robeson Col. He also had 3 plantations in Richmond, NC.
