Nathan HICKS
Nathan Hicks was 1/2 CherokeeNathan was the first settlers of the Wrightsville area while it was locat ed in Washington County, settling on the Ohoopee about three miles southwe st of Wrightsville. He was granted several tracts in Washington County fr om 1784 to 1788, and purchased land on the Great Ohoopee in 1791. Nathan w as the Justice of the Peace of Montgomery County, 1793, security on the bo nd of Clerk Thomas Pugh in 1794, 1797/1798 landowner Montgomery Co., marri ed Mary Mason, may have also married Martha _______, born ca. 1760/70, s ee 1830 Census,
He married Nancy "nan-Yi-Ha" Broom Abt 1747 at Overhill Towns, Cherokee Nation East, Georgia . Nancy "nan-Yi-Ha" Broom was born at Cherokee Nation Abt 1744 daughter of Chief "Dutch" Tauchee Broom and Nancy Full Blood Paint Clan .
