Will of William Rogers dated January 28, 1725, probated in Surry Co., Virginia, on May 17 , 1727. "Lancasters of Trigg County" by Jeannie Lancaster. In Order Book 1, Page 530, in Surry Co., Virginia is recorded: On January 6, 1679, Hezekial Bunnill gave bond for the estate of Elizabeth Cartwright, and on September 7, 1686, William Rogers, having married Elizabeth Cartwright, orphan, receipted Mr. Bunnill for his wife's estate. Elizabeth was the daughter of Robert Cartwright. She is mentioned in his will dated February 19, 1767, and probated in Surry Co., Virginia, on April 10, 1676.Elizabeth was left a wedding ring, a Great Bible, a steer given her by John Orchard, a steer given her by Richard Cartwright, and a breeding sow given her by Joan Bunnill in the will of her father, Robert Cartwright. Hezekiah Bunnill was to have the tuition of Elizabeth, according to the will of her father, Robert. Elizabeth was the eldest daughter and was under the guardianship of Hezekiah Bunnill, who on November 4, 1679, presented Walter Flood and Richard Avery as securities for her estate.She was married to William Rogers by September 7, 1686 when Rogers receipted Hezekiah Bunnill for her property.Her brother, Robert Jr., died without issue in 1699. His nuncupatory will, sworn to Nov. 7, 1 699 by George Middleton and Nathaniel Harrison leaves his property to his sister Elizabeth Rogers, his siser Mary, his god-daughter Sarah Rogers, and William Rogers (to whom he refers as "the old man").*******Source: http://expage.com/page/eakbeElizabeth Cartwright (b Surry Co VA-1730 Surry Co VA) was the dau of Robert Cartwright and Elizabeth (Orchard?). Her father's will of 1675 named William Carpenter of Surry Co VA as her guardian. She m William Rogers by 1686, for in 1686 William Rogers gave receipt to executor Hezekiah Bunnell for Elizabeth's estate which she had inherited from her father.Robert Cartwright (c1640 England-c1676 Southwark Parish, Surry Co VA) was a servant when he sailed from Bristol, England to VA in 1654. In 1665 he and Richard Cartwright were headrights for Thomas Allen for a patent of 1000A in Lawnes Creek Parish in Surry Co. He made a nuncupative will 19 Feb 1675, naming his four children and his brother Richard, and appointing guardians for the children: probate was opened 24 Mar 1676 in Surry Co VA. Robert Cartwright and his wife Elizabeth (Orchard?) were parents of these children: Robert (VA-1699 Surry Co VA) Elizabeth (Surry Co VA-1730 Surry Co VA) m William RogersMary m William CokerHezekiah (1671 Surry Co VA-) Several researchers have noted that Robert's sons left no male issue.
