Obituary, Star Valley Independent, November 11, 1948: John Peart Robinson, son of John Robinson and Merelda Angela Peart was born at Richmond, Utah November 27, 1882.
       At the age of 13 Mr. Robinson helped his father trail cattle from Richmond, Utah to Freedom, Wyo. to graze for the summer.  Three years later hay was purchased in the valley and he stayed with relatives and fed cattle during the winter.  At this time land was purchased and Mr. Robinson remained in the valley the year around, looking after his father's livestock, until June 2, 1902 when the family moved permanently to Freedom.
       On June 10, 1903 he married Rose Luthi in the Logan Temple.  Mrs. Robinson was buried with her seventh baby, and on Oct. 9, 1923, Mr. Robinson married Pearl Nelson.  Five children were born to this union.
       On October 25th in the local hospital, Mr. Robinson passed away leaving his wife, Pearl Nelson Robinson, eight chidren and 17 grandchildren to mourn his death.  The children include:
       Melvin Robinson, Merle Robinson, Susa Erickson, Frank Robinson and Kim Robinson of Freedom; Merelda Gough and Helen Gough of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Dewain Robinson of Preston, Idaho.
       He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters:
       Alvin Robinson, Carl Robinson, and Bill Robinson of Afton, Mrs. Hazel Luthi, Reynold Robinson and Leonard Robinson of Freedom, Mrs. Ada R. Nelson, Preston, Idaho, James Robinson, Redondo, Wash., Mrs. Sybil R. Papworth and Mrs. Hilda Markstaller of Portland, Ore., and Dr. T. E. Robinson of Salt Lake City.
       Funeral services for Mr. Robinson were held in the Freedom Ward chapel October 28th at 1:00 p.m. with Bp. D'Orr Child conducting.  Service included:

       The speakers praised Mr. Robinson highly for his genuiness as a friend and neighbor and for his devoted love to his family.
       The grave was dedicated by F. G. Robinson.
       Pallbearers were Melvin, Dewain, Merle, Frank and Kim Robinson and Ford Nelson.

Obituary, Star Valley Independent, Nov. 24, 1949:  Pearl Nelson Robinson, 45, of Freedom passed away at the LDS Hospital November 22nd after a lingering illness of two months.
       Mrs. Robinson was born in Bedford, Wyoming April 2, 1904.  She was the sixth child of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Nelson of Bedford.  Her youth and school days were spent in Thayne.
       In 1923 she was married to J. P. Robinson of Freedom.  To this union were born five children,  J. P. and two children preceded her in death.
       Before her marriage she was employed at the William Heap Merc. for two years.  There she gained the love and respect of many.  She was a lover of her home and family.  She etook much pride in beautification of her home and surroundings.  She worked hard and eagerly for her family.
       November 25, 1949 her many friends gathered to pay last respects to Mrs. Robinson.  the host of floral offerings expressed the sympathy of her many friends and relatives.
       Funeral services were under the direction of Bishop D'Orr Child at the Freedom LDS Chapel.

Five step children, Helen Gough of Idaho Falls, Mrs. Merelda Gough of Salmon, Idaho, Merle and Melvin Robinson of Freedom and Dewain Robinson of Preston, Idaho, her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Nelson, and eleven brothers and sisters.
