Obituary, Star Valley Independent, Thursday, August 6, 1931: W. P. Robinson called Beyond - W. P. Robinson of Freedom passed away at his home in Freedom last Saturday from an illness that he has been suffering with for a long time. Mr. Robinson has been suffering from a cancer of the stomach for about two years and for some time now has been very bad. Mr. Robinson was somewhere near seventy years of age and came to Star Valley from Richmond, Utah nearly forty years ago and settled in Freedom where he has made his home since that time. He leaves behind besides his brothers and sisters, two sons, Glen and Dewey, and three daughters Mrs. Griffith marshall, Mrs. Lorin Hansen, and Mrs. Alvin Schiess. Funeral services were held in Freedom last Tuesday and they were attended by a large number of the friends and relatives of Mr. Robinson. The main speakers at the services were A. F. Burton, L. H. Haderlie, D. J. Clark, Bishop Carl Robinson and a man from Richmond, Utah with whom Mr. Robinson was good friends with many years ago. Interment was in the Freedom Cemetery.

Pneumonia and ailments incident to old age were the cause of her death. Funeral services for Mrs. Emily Whittle Robinson, 80, pioneer resident of Freedom, who died January 3, 1945 at her home in Idaho Falls, was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the Freedom Ward chapel with Charles Weber of the Freedom bishopric officiating. The body lay in state at the home of Mrs. Ida Robinson at Freedom from 10:00 a.m. until time for services. Speakers including Carl Robinson of Afton, Wyoming; L. Sumner Pond of Grace, Idaho, nephew of the desceased, R. R. Dana of Thayne, Wyoming, and remarks in behalf of the Bishopric by Charles Weber, all of whom paid tribute to her useful and courageous life. Musical selections were: Trio composed of Lorraine Barber, Virgil Malen and Laura Draney, who sang "Prayer Perfect" and "One Fleeting Hour" Baritone solo "The Lord's Prayer," by Ivan Gardner and a duet "In the Garden of Tomorrow," by Alta Sanderson and Walter Brower. Mrs. Robinson was born July 17, 1864 at Richmond, Utah, the daughter of Casper and Mary Ann Whittle, and was married on November 11, 1884 to William P. Robinson at Richmond. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on September 18, 1891. She and her husband moved to Idaho 54 years ago, and pioneered that section of Star Valley now known as Freedom, where they made their home. Her husband, well known cattleman of Freedom, preceded her in death thirteen years. She was active in the Relief Society of the Freedom Ward and during the later years of her life she spent several winters working in the Logan LDS Temple. She has made her home in Idaho Falls for the past two and one half years. She is susrvived by two sons and three daughters, Mr. Dewey Robinson and Mr. W. G. Robinson of Idaho falls, Mrs. Alvin Schiess, Mrs. Olive Marshall and Mrs. Lorin Hansen of Pocatello, and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ida Robinson Freedom, Wyoming.
