Life Sketch: On November 7, 1870 Carl Gustaf Eriskon and Beata Per Jonson became parents of their first child, Carl G., in Julita, Nyskoping, Sweden. In his early youth Carl helped his father in the brickyard and attended school when possible. The elder Ericksons were baptized into the LDS Church May 16, 1879 and Carl was baptized about a year later at the age of 10. Because of loss of this date, he was later re-baptized April 2, 1891 at Richmond, Utah. While standing at his mother's side, he remarked that he wished he were small enough to be put in a letter to go to Zion. His mother relayed this comment to the missionaries in this country, and arrangements were made for this journey. In May, 1882, at age of 12, he left his native Sweden to come to America. He arrived in June, 1882 at Richmond, Utah, where he lived with Scandinavian families. After living at Richmond for two years, a loan of $1200 was negotiated to bring his family here. When the loan was repaid on Mr. Nelson's property, he said the Ericksons were the most honest and upright people he had ever dealt with. During his early years of labor, Carl saved up sufficient money to have a home constructed for his family. In 1892 he received his final citizenship papers. On January 9, 1895 he ws married to Annie Elizabeth Wright in the Logan Temple. They became the parents of 13 children, all of whom are living. After living in Richmond 8 or 9 years, the family moved to Ulet, now known as Glen, in lower Star Valley. In August, 1917 his wife passed away, leaving him the young family to rear.
