Obituary, Star Valley Independent, May 1980:  Alta Sanderson, age 74 of Freedom died May 4, 1980 of cardiac aarrest in Logan.  Funeral services were held May 7 at 1 p.m. in the Freedom Wad LDS chapel with Cordell Luthi conducting.  Burial followed in the Freedom Cemetery.
       Alta was born on Oct. 4, 1905 to James Mason and Beata Maria Erickson Brower at Freedom.  Soon after her birth the family moved to Cache Valley where they lived for the next four years.  When Alta was 11 years old her mother died, leaving her to care for a younger sister and a 16-day old baby.  She completed her schooling through the eighth grade.
       She met William Delos Sanderson and they were married on July 3, 1924 in Paris, Idaho.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.  The couple settled in Etna, but later moved to Freedom where Alta spent the remainder of her life.
       An active member of the LDS Church, Alta held the positions of Sunday School coordinator, Relief Society chorister, Primary president, teacher and ward chorister which position she held for     years
       She is survived by William Max Sanderson of Freedom, daughters, Mrs. Dick (Reba) Luthi, Freedom; Mrs. R. L. (Mary) Heiner, Bedford; and Mrs. Glayde (Kayleen) Hill, Idaho Falls.  She is also survived by two brothers, Alden C. Brower, Logan; and Harold M. Brower, Freedom; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
